I joined this village of moms in May of 2017 and I have never looked back. At the time, Alexis was 15 months old and I was in search of activities for Alexis and I to do together. I knew my girl was going to be as active as I am (and she still is)! After trying out my first free Stroller Strides class, I knew I had found what I had been looking for. I was so happy because I could finally make mommy friends, have play dates for Alexis, and work out all at the same time.
I’ve always had an interest for fitness and health. I was the one college student who would take step aerobics classes, yoga classes, and boot camp classes for fun…Which brought me to my major- Health Science School Education at Cal State Long Beach.
Did I see myself going from a FIT4MOM member to an instructor? Not at all! However, 2018 has been very life changing year for me. I have grown as a mother and I have grown as a person. I made the CHOICE to focus on myself and put myself first more than ever before. I listened to my wants and to my DREAMS. Which is why I’m focused on my health and love for fitness. Which is why I also joined Run Club and have run a 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon all in one year. But there was one dream that I had been choosing not to listen to, and it finally made its way through. And that is becoming an instructor. I can finally be that motivator, supporter, and of course, mommy friend to another fellow momma.
I am so happy to have been given this opportunity and for the FIT4MOM Torrance team believing in me. I promise to do my best and give my best every single class. Thank you mommas.
