Stroller Strides® is a total fitness program that moms can do with their babies. It includes power walking/jogging and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using resistance bands, the stroller and the environment. Taught by certified and specially trained fitness instructors, it is a great workout for any level of exerciser. Stroller Strides instructors weave songs and activities into the routine designed to entertain and engage baby, while moms are led through a series of exercises specific to her role as mom.more
Stroller Barre® is a unique blend of ballet, Pilates, barre, yoga and stroller-based exercises designed to help moms build strength and muscle tone and improve posture. Created by a mom who was formerly a professional ballerina, this class incorporates prenatal and postnatal training and yields amazing results in an exciting, fun format. Postpartum women tend to have tight and weak pectoral (chest), abdominal and quadriceps muscles. In addition, the back and hamstrings muscles become stretched and weak. This occurs due to hunched posture from breast or bottle feeding, excessive spinal curves while carrying baby in utero and after birth, and repeatedly picking their new (and rapidly growing) baby up. Strides 360 promises a heart-pumping workout designed to increase your endurance while also developing speed, agility and quickness to help you sprint through mom life. Bodyweight conditioning is strategically placed to provide recovery, strength and round out your workout. It's for any mom interested in a workout that can be as hard as you need it to be on your good days or scaled back on days you're not sure how you made it out the door! Body Back is a 60-minute, results-based workout designed to help you reach your full physical potential and reconnect to your inner strength. Our high-intensity interval training (HIIT) cycles through cardio, strength, and core work and concludes with a relaxing meditation to help you recharge and head back to your family. Recommended for mamas at least 6 months postpartum.
Body Back Transformation is an 8-week results-based journey. You will focus on your mind and body, improving your overall health and well being. The experience includes high-intensity interval workouts (HIIT) designed to challenge, empower, and recharge you. The program also includes nutrition guidance, supplemental online workouts, accountability, pre- and post fitness assessments and support. Whether you're preparing for an upcoming race or simply enjoy running with other like-minded mamas, Run Club is for you. A program for all levels, Run Club allows you to run, improve your health and fitness, and connect with other moms through two styles of class: Run Clinics are designed to correct running form and increase speed and agility, and Run Days designed to increase endurance.
This course is training for the St. Patrick's Day 5k in Redondo Beach on March 17th, but your participation in that race is completely optional!
This is a community class that is open to the public! Any mama, whether you are a member of FIT4MOM Torrance or not, is welcome to join us with your stroller-aged child for a free Stroller Strides class in the Outdoor Village area of the Del Amo Fashion Center. We meet at the grass in front of Forever 21 at 9am. Bring water, a yoga mat/towel and whatever your child needs to sit happily in their stroller (snacks, toys, etc).more
We are more than a workout! We are also a group of moms looking for connections with other moms and fun activities for our kiddos. That's why we offer a weekly playgroup after class including fun activities or crafts for the kids, plus a monthly Mom's Night Out, just for us. ;) Our Village activities are completely free and open to all mamas - whether you're a member of FIT4MOM Torrance, or not.
